In total Tatiana smokes 5 cigarettes and indeed POWERS her way through each one! Her drags are often cheek hollowing and she has a unique style where she often drags hard on the filter and relaxes her lips a little before again dragging hard for a second – a double drag one may say. Consequently, Tatiana sometimes drags for up to 4 seconds at a time.
I record Tatiana’s smoking history in detail. I ask very few questions as she covers many areas of her addiction to cigarettes without any prompting. 21 year old Tatiana divulges that she’s been smoking for 7 years, and started as an indirect result of her step-father: “I always loved the smell of cigarettes because of association with someone I dearly loved which was my step-father ”, she explains.
I ask Tatiana to explain her memories of her first cigarette. She recounts a detailed narrative of how her and her friend consumed an entire “pack straight away”! The conversation includes memories of coughing on her first cigarettes, head rushes she still gets when she’s not smoked for a long time, running to the corner shop in the morning to acquire more needed cigarettes, the addictive quality of cigarettes, the enjoyment of cigarettes, the pleasure of inhalation and exhaling the smoke, AND the sexiness of smoking. In fact she reveals how men are attracted to her smoking!
The volume of smoke absorbed in her lungs is colossal. But STILL she billows plumes of thick smoke into the, sometimes leaning into the camera and exhaling the smoke right into your face.
Tatiana is a smoke fetishers dream. I’ve NEVER encountered anybody who smokes so powerfully. The shoot lasted just 40 minutes and during this time Tatiana smoked 5 cigarettes and she wasn’t fazed or – such is the capacity of her lungs.
