Mayumi, a very pretty young lady and a working model, came to us saying she wanted to learn to smoke and try modeling a smoker in a video. She added that her friends smoke and wants to smoke like they do when she goes out with them. So we had her learn on camera with Chloe, our director and cameraperson coaching her from behind the camera. they did not rehearse smoking before the shoot began, so what you see is the complete uncut and unedited process . Mayumi’s a fast learner— by about half way through she learned to inhale, exhale a nice stream of smoke and performed pretty decent nose exhales, surprising Chloe with her proficiency. She enjoyed the whole thing, spontaneously saying “this fun… I like it” and “now I can join my friends smoking”. Her modeling experience makes her natural and confident in front of the camera — she cracked up when she coouldnt think of the word for ashtray. at the end of this shoot she said she wants to practice more at home and will teach a friend who doesnt smoke: “I will show her what you teach me.”
